Hi! My name is Jesus Cardoso, and I’m going to teach you how to keep out the noise that
you don’t want out of your recording. It’s a good tip to know that you should close as
many doors as you have in your home studio and windows. Try to keep all the noise outside,
outside. Try to also avoid recording into any open space. Sometimes the best place that
you can record a vocal, because it’s quieter, could be a closet or maybe a bathroom. Also,
it’s important to consider that the better the quality of your mic, especially if you’re
talking about large diaphragm condenser, it will actually pick up more of the noise that
is outside. Make sure that if you’re mic’ing a quieter source like a violin or a voice,
that you’re in a short space with not a lot of noise and that your microphone isn’t
really perceiving any of that noise before you start recording.
