I put cash in my buckets, buckets
Pay myself with my buckets, buckets
Smooth it out with my buckets, buckets
Just a drop in the bucket, bucket
Don't you hate it how your payments always seem to creep up?
Got a grip on your budget, but expenses eat up
what you're left with, monthly payments never ease up
and then something crazy comes along to trip your feet up
Like a car insurance bill that's due every six months
Man you ain't expecting that! It can cost a big chunk
And it's tough to keep track with it, what I came to do
is tell you 'bout a way to have that cash once your payment's due
First thing that you pay with your check is your monthly
bills, but you still gotta make sure that something's
left to have some fun, but somehow it's all spent
So the unexpected expense of insurance cause stress
So instead, what I do is put a little in my bucket
This is how you do it - every time you get your duckets
Take a little bit right off the top and just tuck it
away before you spend it - do it first, don't get sucked into
buying what you don't need, just put one sixth
of your insurance payment every month in buckets
When the bill comes due, then you will come through
with the payment from your bucket, then you start the plan anew
I put cash in my buckets, buckets
Pay myself with my buckets, buckets
Implementing this plan might leave you with some doubts
but some banks let you designate multiple accounts
(multiple accounts)
Make as many separate buckets as you crave
Every month, same expenses paid with the cents you saved
They can be for anything, vacation, IRA
down payment, Escalade, man, what else can I say?
Don't be 'fraid, try it out, what you got to lose?
Suck it up and get started
Just a drop in the bucket
