this case is
postoperative appendectomy
appendix removal, abscess drainage, sixth day
each day, drain tube drips a little of pus
rotate (camcorder) down
slowly
zoom in... see pus ?
yes
let examine the incision
the patient is stable, afibrile
reducing abdominal pain, able to eat
normal urinating and defecating
abdomen wall is soft
but we see one thing
pus begins to
leak through
draining hole, wets
gauze here
here
skin which is around drain tube
is red swelling a little
(indistinct patient voice)
when pus leaks outside draining tube
draining tube loses its function
draining tube, if staying for long time
will widen the draining hole
and in that case
drain tube has no more function
and pus at draining cavity
leaks through the tunnel
which created by drain tube
and through gap
between abdominal wall and drain tube
so this case...
we may...
have drain tube removed, and
removing tube and...
let pus drained naturally through tunnel and hole
more time the tube staying, no more fuction
shut (camcorder) off
