Hi. I'm Stephen from the security team here at Three.
Today I've got some useful advice that will really help you out
if you ever have to report your phone as lost or stolen.
#INTRO
Every phone has a unique serial number that's also known as an IMEI code.
To find it, key in *#06# and you'll see a 15-digit code.
You can also find it on the box your device originally came in.
Make a note of this number and keep it in a safe place.
Then, if your device is ever lost or stolen, give this number to the police,
so they can identify it if it's recovered later on.
It's actually a really good idea to get into the habit of writing down
the serial numbers of any kit you buy,
whether it's a phone, tablet, TV, music player, or even a bike.
You can register all these numbers at Immobilise.com.
It's an easy way of recording them all in a safe and secure place.
When the police recover stolen property, they check this site
to try and find the rightful owner.
So hopefully your phone will never be lost or stolen,
but if it is, at least you'll be prepared.
