Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of tutorial!
I am Leonardo Pereznieto and I´m so glad to see you again.
Before we start drawing I want to remind you that you may watch most of my tutorials with subtitles.
Turn them on with the "CC" button in the lower part.
Some of my videos have been translated into many languages,
so you may chose your own. [cheer]
In some cases, specially for newly uploaded ones,
you may find that only has been translating to a few languages and not to yours.
[ahhhhh]
If that is the case and you wish to translate it yourself,
please scroll down and click where it says "Show more"
and it will give you the information to translate it and to send it to me.
If you are watching the video in a different website than Youtube,
like in this case on Facebook, click the Youtube icon on the lower right
so the video opens up directly in Youtube
where you can scroll down and see the full information as we went over.
Thank you so much!
Ok, let´s get to work.
Today, as promised, we will do a water drop with colors.
First let´s sketch the shape of the water drop.
I´m using a green pencil on green paper, in case you didn´t notice.
I will draw some texture lines in the background
so that you can see what happens to them when you look through the water drop.
They get amplified and slightly distorted.
We can do the shadow with a bluish pastel pencil.
By the way, for a water drop or for any transparent object,
the light behaves in a special way:
If the beams of light came in this direction,
the darkest area would be on this part.
The light would go through the transparent object and would hit the other side, down here.
And here, in the darker area, there could be a bright reflection.
We can use different tones of green for the different areas.
Like a darker one for the top, a middle one for the middle part
and a lighter one for the bottom area.
Below the water drop there would be a shadow.
And here let´s get the reflection we talked about.
I am using a white pastel and a stump to smudge it.
In the middle of the shadow there could be a bright spot
depending on the lighting you have.
The full list of materials is in the information below the video.
Ok. The last touches and its ready!
Please let me know what do you think about it.
