Hi, my name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I’m going to show
you how to make the holiday favorite Spiced Apple Cider. Okay, so we’ve got our apple
juice, it’s out of the freezer. Now you don’t freeze it obviously, you just let
it cool off a whole lot. I’m got it on a high heat again, we’re going to bring it
up to a boil and just to reiterate what this does, it actually, it’ll actually expel
out of the sediment and all of the impurities that are in there and so when we actually
go and serve it we’ll have a really, really crystal clear apple cider that’s actually
really, really neat looking how it comes out. It actually almost comes out liking like,
like an ice tea, or like a, almost like a beer in its color, golden crystalline color,
it’s really clear, not cloudy at all. So what’s going to happen here, we’re going
to bring this to a boil, and then once it comes to a boil we’re going to add in our
toasted ingredients. We’ll let those cook a little bit, we’ll go into that in a second.
But as another piece of trivia, this whole double boiling process, the whole boiling
and cooling and boiling again, is also a good way, actually it’s the way that you make
those really, really clear sugar, ice cubes. Have you ever seen ice cubes, like on a TV
commercial or like in the movies, where they just look like freakishly clear, almost like
it’s a fake? That’s how they do it, if they’re not using fake ones, they actually
boil the water once and they let it cool off and then you boil it again while it’s hot
you put it in the ice cube trays and make ice cubes out of it and you’ll get these
really weird like crystalline, like, almost like, look like glass ice cubes out of it.
So it’s coming to a boil again, so we’re going to come back in a second when it hits
a full boil and add everything else to it.
