It’s now easier for you to find the information you need to participate
in the R&D Tax Incentive program.
All information relating to the R&D Tax Incentive
has been streamlined and can now be accessed through the business.gov.au website.
This is all part of the Department of Industry’s new single business service.
The service provides easy-to-access services to businesses of all sizes, in all locations,
and in any sector of the economy.
The R&D Tax Incentive information has been
streamlined into three key sections: Eligibility, Apply, and Program Information.
We’ll take you on a quick tour of each section:
The Eligibility section will help you to determine
if your business, its activities and the expenditure associated with those activities are eligible under the programme.
There’s an Online Eligibility Tool to help
you assess at a quick glance whether the R&D Tax Incentive is for you.
You can also access the ATO’s handy R&D Tax Incentive Calculator to calculate your tax offset.
Under the Apply section, you will find information
about how to register with the program and hints and tips to assist you in the registration process.
You’ll find more detailed information and documents in the Program Information section,
including a section on Compliance Assurance
to help you understand your obligations under the program.
Visit our Multimedia area to view videos and podcasts explaining the R&D Tax Incentive
as well as featuring customers who have benefited from the program.
You can also read a selection of our Customer Stories by using the interactive map of Australia.
If you haven’t accessed R&D Tax assistance before or you’re looking for a refresher,
the new R&D Snapshot section is a great starting point.
It provides a comprehensive, step-by-step guide that will help small and medium sized
companies to quickly identify if they’re eligible for the R&D Tax Incentive.
The Snapshot provides real life case studies relevant to your industry, to help you decide
if your business and the work you do is eligible. It will also take you through what records
you need to keep and how to register and claim for the R&D Tax Incentive program.
You can also subscribe to our regular Information Bulletin or register for one of our Information
Sessions which are run throughout the year in each State and Territory.
