We are going to present you modifications
we made to Sony's PS3Eye
which is the camera we use for the T++ project
here you see the PCB
with the CMOS sensor in the middle
we removed the original lens
here you see the original lens mount
and the original lens
we managed to take them apart
but they were glued together
we had to force a little
unfortunately this mount is too small
so we won't use these items
the goal of this exercice is to be able to use
the different lenses we bought at dealzextreme
they cost 15$US for the set, so it's a good deal
worth the cost if you do this kind of project
these lenses don't have IR filters
it works really well to do IR tracking
To use theses lenses we had to buy a new mount
from Sunex in the US
unfortunately the mount is a bit to large
to screw it to the PCB
so we had to stick it
then all you have to do
this is a screw thread
these lenses are M12 0.5
also known as micro-lenses, used for webcams
so you can just screw them to the mount
distance in the screw thread will adjust focus
this is a small on screen example
so i'm going to adjust focus by screwing the lens
so it should eventually focus
a nice view... of my ceiling
