Hello, my name is Hans Dekkers, Team Leader at Dynaread.
and I would like to talk to about the importance of routine in dyslexia remediation.
This is a container will pills Antibiotics, to be precise
There is a significant parallel between antibiotics
and reading remediation. I frequently have sinus infections
and several times a year need to take antibiotics Antibiotics come with a prescription
I need to take 3 pills a day And keep it up for 14 days
Taking only one pill a day, Or stopping after five days
is not just NOT going to cure my infection. It's worse: Not taking my pills properly
means I may develop resistance making it much more difficult in the future
to overcome a serious infection. And there we have the parallel with
reading remediation programs such as ours and antibiotics. Dynaread requires at least one session a day
of about 25 min. Ideally two a day.
Keeping this up consistently just like taking antibiotics
will give your child good and consistent progress. Failing to be consistent
is going to result in your child forgetting some of what he has learned,
and this then results in frustration Skipping sessions and failure to build
and keep a stable routine potentially erodes both your child's
and your motivation to continue And like with antibiotics
the consequence may be that your child builds up more resistance
Resistance against reading programs Which resistance may result in robbing
your child of the very chance they have to avert or avoid low literacy
Reading remediation is a commitment It's worth doing and is worth the effort
Yes there can be hurdles along the way There almost always are some hurdles
But those can be overcome In next week's video we'll be talking about
managing student motivation So be sure to watch that one
