Bureau of Labor Statistics figures showed a national unemployment rate of 9.4% in December.
On the other hand, unemployment among veterans who have served in the Armed Forces since
September 2001 rose to 11.7% in December.

job fairs nationwide throughout the year
aimed at showing businesses that veterans are attractive job candidates.
