Hey guys, this is Misha from MTC. Today I'm going to show you how to download
and install StarMade for the first time
ever. First thing you need to do is find a nice place to put your
StarMade installation folder. I chose the Documents folder here
So I'm just gonna go ahead and make a new folder. I'm just gonna call it StarMade.
There we go it's that simple. So just leave that open there,
and then I'm going to the StarMade website. I'll post a link to it in the
description.
And you could wanna go ahead and click on download and then you're going to
want to download the installation
appropriate for your operating system after reading and agreeing to the terms
and conditions.
So you go ahead and open that and then choose either the regular for your operating system
or if you're having problems try the alternate mirror. So I have Windows so I'm gonna
download that from the first mirror
So then you wanna go ahead and minimize that and I know it's a download so I'm just
gonna open that in a new window.
And use whatever means you need to move it to your StarMade folder.
So just go ahead and close that up. The next step is to
right-click on it and run as administrator because you may have problems if you
don't
so then you wanna go ahead click "Update and Install Latest Version".
That will check and make sure that you are updated if you already have
installed and if not it will download all the files you need to get it all
setup and going.
So I will come back when it's done downloading. Okay I am back in and
as you can see "Update and Install the Latest Version", the box is greyed out and
two new boxes appear called "Start Game" and "Start Dedicated Server" Just to get
started we're going to click Start game
It brings you to the dialogue called "Connection Setup" this is where you need to
determine your
in game name. I'm just gonna go with MTC for now
and you can pick between multi-player and single player.
For multi-player you just need to type in the IP and port
You need to set your resolution you can set it to what your monitor is.
My monitor is 1440 by 900 so I set it to that.
I will turn full screen on and I will turn FOV all the way up because my
computer can handle that,
and I will leave everything else the way it is. So once you want to start just go ahead
and click OK.
okay so after going through the startup of the game you will appear at the spawn
menu where you can either spawn or exit the game. I recommend that you spawn if you wanna
continue.
So you go ahead and spawn and you're greated with this nice tutorial But you don't need that because I'm here to
tell you how it
works. Controls in this game are pretty basic
you move around using the mouse to look around. You're an astronaut so there's no
gravity yet
That's part of a different tutorial. But basically
you're just kinds free-flowing right now you're standing on top of this block
right here
but you can go forward with W
back with S and side to side with A and D respectively
can also go up with E down with Q
you may be asking "What do I do now, I'm just floating near this
long space station thing?" Well you need to make a ship so you can start
mining asteroids and selling them and making bigger ships and
exploring the universe. So first to start your ship you need to
to look somewhere where you aren't close to something, and then hit X
A "New Ship" dialog will appear and you can set it to whatever you want as far as the name
goes. So I'm just
gonna send it to "MTC
CRAFT" You cannot use spaces but you can use underscores and
other various characters so keep that in mind.
And then you hit okay. I decide to stop the tutorial right here because this
tutorial is just made for downloading and starting StarMade.
If you guys want another tutorial on how to make simple ships
or other tutorials like that, be sure to tell me in the comments, and like
the video so I know.
And also be should subscribe to see more tech videos and other things like that
and I will see you guys next time.
