When I first got my Masters in School Administration, my desire was of course to be a principal,
to eventually become a central office administrator either in my home school district or in one
local area.
Now that I am back in college here and doing doctoral work at UNC Charlotte I could either
still pursue that central office goal or even see myself being back on a college campus
teaching and educating other future leaders.
They are a cut above the expectations, are well known throughout the region, and so I
think that having the doctoral element to my degree will put me a cut above those others.
It is equal to, if not better than most in the region.
The professors want you to be successful.
They are supportive, they give you a call back anytime you need them. They're quick
to respond, usually within 24 hours.
They follow you throughout their career.
It's just a great support system through the degree programs so you're never alone, you
never feel alone, you always feel like you've got the quality support from those professors
around you.
They bring various levels of backgrounds - superintendents, or school law.
They all bring different pieces of information to you that are valuable as you pursue a career
in education.
You just have to be organized and well thought out and plan to keep your classwork under
control.
Doing it with a full time job, they work with you to manage your course load, and your assignments
are very manageable and even if you have to come back to campus for assignments, it can
fit into a daily life.
