Of the Maori electorate candidates,
Clinton Dearlove is perhaps the first to cast his vote.
Today advanced voting opened.
Dearlove is the Mana candidate for the Te Tai Tonga electorate.
This is what Clinton Dearlove needs to succeed.
I will be outside the electorate on Election Day
and I have showed our people that it's easy to go
and cast an advanced vote. The main thing is to vote.
Clinton comes from Northland but recently moved to the South
so that his voters could see and hear what he has to offer them.
I can be a new voice for the people here in the South and Wellington.
The election is his main goal right now, but whether or not he wins
he has plans to stay and work in the electrote.
I love the area and what it has to offer,
if I don't win I will stand again in 2014.
He is focusing on one voting group in particular in his campaign.
I will visit all the universities and let the students know
they have a voice and it is powerful.
He cant afford billboards
but he hopes his face to face strategy will be a winner.
Irena Smith, Te Karere.
