Hello and welcome to the University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington Campus.
I'm sure you want to find out loads about the campus, what it has to offer,
and what it's like to be a student here. Well my name's Kaitlin and I've just
finished my first year, so I'm going to show you around.
If you're planning on studying Vet Medicine or a Bio-Science subject
you'll spend most of your time on this campus, along with fifteen hundred other people.
As you can see it's a beautiful place to be.
You're guaranteed accommodation in your first year and you'll be
living with other students and making friends in a place like this.
Every room here has an en-suite as well as a shared kitchen and living room,
which is great for socialising. Another great thing about living here is that
you're never far from lectures. I'm now heading over to the Rushcliffe Restaurant.
As part of the accommodation package, you get evening meals here every weekday.
The menu is really varied and my personal favourite
is probably the fish and chips. There's also formal dinners here every term,
like on Valentines Day.
During the day you can stop in at the cafe, or Bistro Bar,
and there's also the on-campus shop and supermarkets in nearby Loughborough.
Every month there is also a farmers market which is organised by student
society based right here.
You can pick up locally sourced foods like meat,
fish, and even ice cream. Another great thing about Sutton Bonington
is that you don't need to leave the campus to find entertainment.
There's everything from comedy to open mic nights to theme nights like our rollerbop disco.
And our summer ball is one of the highlights of the year.
There's loads of societies here on Sutton Bonington.
But there's over 200 soceties within the University,
so there's something for everyone to do.
You can take part in loads of sports
in the on-campus Sports Centre. There's a state of the art gym,
and classes like Zumba and Circuits. You can also join one of our sports clubs,
like Football, Netball, Hockey or even Fencing.
We also have our own Student Services Centre on campus,
so you can get help whenever you need it.
With so much to do on campus,
it really is easy to stay busy. But there's also the free Hopper bus to the
University Park campus,
and everything there is to do there. Of course it's only a short journey into
Nottingham itself
with all the shopping, entertainment and culture it has to offer.
So I've shown you around the Sutton Bonington campus
and I hope you can see just what a great place it is to be. It's got a friendly
vibe and a great sense of community,
and you really feel like you're part of something when you come here.
Not long after I arrived, I realised that everybody
really is looking out for each other. You've got everything on your doorstep
and great links to the rest of the University and the city, so it really
is the best of both worlds. But if you really want to know what it's like
then come and see for yourself. I've had a great time here so far
and I'm sure you will too.
