Hi, this is Tara Reed, and I want to talk to you about
my Art Licensing Mindset Audio Postcard Series.
You may have never heard of an audio postcard series,
so I'll explain to you what it is.
Basically, once a week for the next 24 weeks,
if you choose to sign up for the series,
you will receive an Email in your Inbox; that will then link you to
a postcard page online where you can listen to a three-to-five minute conversation
with ideas, and a few things to do during that week to get you familiar
and comfortable with the different skills that you need,
and mindsets that you need to succeed in licensing your art.
I start with Week 1 where I talk about a snow globe analogy,
and I came up with this the last time I was in New York.
If you're ever in New York you'll see tons and tons of souvenir shops
and these cute little snow globes just caught my eye and I noticed
that they made them in all different sizes.
Often people talk about your comfort zone as a box.
Stepping outside of the box means try something new,
and I think that a snow globe is a great analogy for a comfort zone as well.
So, if at Week 1, this is your comfort zone with art and art licensing,
you're inside this nice, protective bubble,
and all the skills and information that you're comfortable with
are floating around like the snowflakes inside,
and everything that you don't know how to do,
or that makes you uncomfortable or you're unsure of,
is outside, but you're nice and protected, so
for the next 22 weeks, I'll talk to you about everything
from dealing with deadlines, to negotiating contracts,
to talking to manufacturers, learning and new skills,
and my goal is that at the end of the 24 weeks,
when you go back and you assess what you're comfortable with
and what you're not comfortable with,
you won't have your starting snow globe anymore,
but instead your comfort zone will have expanded
and you'll have more skills inside.
