eleven-fifty-nine-thirty-five into a single year.
I've inserted two stick or obelisk, two great spiral galaxies,
two robot explorers from earth
belonged to systems of two
or three or many suns.
That epic journey took three years.
We know of a three-volume history
of the world,
now lost, left from the collision of two galaxies: three bright stars are seen by
earthlings
only four light hours from Earth.
Well, seven degrees is something like a fiftieth:
had to be about seven degrees, they intersect at an angle about seven degrees.
By a system of nine planets in the last ten seconds
it contains some twenty galaxies,
dozens of moons,
around 10:30 PM
on december 31st
beyond M31.
it is about fifty kilometers west,
seventy years later
only eighty light minutes,
or about a hundred times longer than
the old testament chronology.
Two hundred fifty years later, on a winter's afternoon on
331 B.C. of the full circumference of 360 degrees,
four hundred years before Eratosthenes,
and for some five hundred years of our history,
eight hundred Kilometers to the north:
eight hundred kilometers times fifty
he knew it was eight hundred kilometers,
here, more than a thousand years before.
Thousands of asteroids and thousands of light years
towards the plane the galaxy,
only fifteen hundred light years from earth
held sway for
fifteen hundred years.
By 1600,
in nineteen twenties,
1976 the rings of Uranus were first detected in 1977,
undiscovered unitl 1978, as first revealed by
the Voyager spacecraft in 1979, two thousand years ago.
Why have I brought you across two thousand years,
but we had to wait
nearly two thousand years for these facts to be five thousand kilometers long...
thirty thousand years long...
is forty thousand Kilometers...
uhm, a hundred thousand.
It takes light a hundred thousand years to travel from one end of the galaxy to
the other so light takes about three hundred thousand years to go from one
galaxy three hundred thousand light years apart, a period he took to be
four-hundred-thirty-two thousand years,
nearly one million scrolls.
Millions of light years away,
over a million years,
and each of those million volumes contained up to a million separate
stars, now only two million light years from home.
Three million light years across, each day rapresent
forty million years.
Only fifty million years old during their first hundred million years their
cores may explode taking us two hundred million light years
to the local group
once every quarter billion years. Every month
this is one of the quarter billion years long: a mere one and a half billion kilometers
and billions of comets,
billions of nuclear furnaces eight billion light years, from home.
fifteen
billion years of cosmic evolution:
fifteen billion years later
has revealed the universe some fifteen billion years old,
or we can squander our fifteen million year heritage
some of them containing hundreds of billions of suns:
four
hundred billions suns. Saturn's majestic rings
are made of trillions of orbiting snowballs made of a trillion suns:
nearly ten
trillion kilometers, it measures a hundred trillion times denser than
lead
there are a hundred billion galaxies and a billion trillion stars...
that's
pretty good figuring for
twenty-two hundred years ago.
