DR. RON PITBLADO AWARD FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE
I would now like to call upon Dr. Irene Moore,
Associate Director Academics to present the
Dr. Ron Pitblado Award for Teaching Excellence.
It was very difficult for the committee to make a descision
this year, we had outstanding nominations, but we finally decided
on a person, and just as far as the criteria for the award
they need to have a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter
and certainly this instructor knows everything there is to know
about horses. She has established a reputation amongst students and
colleagues for superior teaching and having students maintain and
motive them, and again whether it be painting a horse or thinking
of all sorts of inovative ways the students were certainly engaged
in their classes. She has been very involved in curriculum development.
She started off as an instructor and then became a lead instructor
and is now the co-ordinator of the program and continuely improving
the Performance Horse Handler Program, and certainly throughout her tenure
with the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus at REACH she has made
an outstanding contributions to the education of our students.
So with great pleasure the recipient of the 2013
Dr. Ron Pitblado Teaching Excellence Award is
Mrs. Sharon McMaster
(Applause)
A special thank you to all those who
donated money and gifts to make this awards programme possible.
Ridgetown Campus appreciates your support of our academic programs.
This concludes the Graduation awards program.
Please join with me in congratulating the recipients and thanking the donors.
