{Pamela Gentry}
Hi, I'm Pamela Gentry at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. If you've
got a minute, I've got some good news about Medicare.
This year, Medicare beneficiaries will find more choices at a lower cost, when
they review their Medicare plan options during Open Enrollment - now through
December 7.
That's because Medicare Advantage premiums will be, on average, 4 percent lower
in 2012 than they were in 2011, while benefits have largely stayed the same -
thanks to the healthcare law.
Every Medicare plan now includes free cancer screenings, a free annual wellness
visit and a 50 percent discount on brand-name prescription drugs when you're in
the donut hole.
Remember, if you are happy with your current coverage, you don't have to do a
thing. Or you can look for a different plan that provides better coverage, lower
premiums or both.
So call 1-800-MEDICARE or use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov before
December 7 to learn more about the improved plan options.
