How to install HMRC mailbox within Sage 50 Payroll 2011
Welcome to the walk through on how to install the HMRC secure mailbox.
During this walk through I’ll show you how to set up the Sage 50 HMRC mailbox so that
you can quickly and efficiently send and receive
forms via the Internet from HMRC such as P46 Starter Notice, P45 Starter and Leaver forms,
P9 forms notifying changes in tax codes, P6 forms notifying changes in previous pay and
tax paid, notice to start or stop a student loan or
a P46 car form.
To be able to set up and send and retrieve forms, you must follow a registration process
with the HMRC. On registering with the HMRC, they
will send you a unique user ID and activation pin to activate and on activation
you can specify your own unique password to use.
To set up the HMRC mailbox, from the left hand stack toolbar you’ll need e-Submissions.
From the list of e-Submission options on the left
hand side, choose e-Submission Settings. The e-
Submission Settings screen will appear in front of you. The company name, tax district
and reference number should already have been
pre-completed and now we just simply need to
enter in your user ID and password which you will have registered with the HMRC. And
again, the password is something which you can generate and which is unique to you as
a company.
The options to the right hand side for Employer. The Suppress Submit Now options tick box
will enable you to suppress the option when you go to submit a form so that it doesn’t
warn you whether you want to submit it now or later,
it just does it automatically for you. The Clear P46 Car flag on submission, if ticked,
will enable you, when you go to submit your P46
car report, to clear the flag to say that you don’t need to make that submission again.
The Check for new messages when opening the IR
Secure mailbox, if checked, will automatically, when you open the mailbox, check for any new
messages that come in from the HMRC and will pull them through into the mailbox for
you. The Enable e-Submissions Log reporting box,
if selected, will automatically keep track of and log all instances of any submission
or retrieval of data between you and the HMRC.
All we need to do now, if you click the Contact Details tab, is to enter your details for
you that you’re submitting on behalf of this
company. So I’m just going to enter my details. Anything marked with an asterisk is a mandatory
field and must be completed. If you’re submitting them as an agent, if you’re running
a payroll bureau, you need to check the Submit as an agent box and complete those details
also. All you need to do now is click Save and
then Close.
And that’s your now Sage 50 Payroll 2011 programme set up ready for you to start using
the IR Secure mailbox.
