so we've got our remote thumb wheel system here. This is a digital motor, this is our digital torque motor. $595 for the motor itself.
It's being controlled by the thumb wheel, ninety five dollars, fot the thumb wheel. So it's driving the actual focus of the lens.
You can see it's very uh... very accurate. No latency.
it's all going to through our base station.
So essentially, all of the information
from the thumb wheel
goes into the base station and comes down to the motor.
And the base stations are wireless ready, so if I were to purchase this system...and then say... I couldn't spring for an AC, I go to my local rental house
and I then rent this unit. Wireless unit
uh... and it is controlling our
camera up here
This is just controlling that. Right now we are tethered
because we're in a giant convention center
and you'll notice that no one has a wireless follow focus system
set up here, because of all of the interference.
So it is wireless ready, but we are directly tethered right now.
Uh, so this is a nice ergonomic hand wheel
You'll work on the side. You do all the lens markings that you can actually buy
multiples of these. And since we have a little set screw here
you can mark your lenses up, save them
then just line them up and put it back on
make sure that you get that little tiny screw on there
tiny screw on there
just like that
And you're all set. The indicator arm is also adjustable
as well as two
adjustment hard stops
One of the nice things about the remote system
is that it will actually map your lenses
to a full 270 degrees
both the remote system and the thumb wheel
so even for your short barrel lenses, like your DSLR still lenses
you'll get a nice solid pull
look at the lens I've got up there, you'll notice it's a 28mm ZE lens
which has about a 50 degree
rotation
You can actually see the entire lens gear when it's at infinity, but I've got a full 270 degree rotation with the remote or the thumb wheel.
