You know, consumer fireworks can add fun and excitement to any holiday event or gathering.
I'm Captain Joe Bruni, with over three decades of fire fighting and emergency medical service
experience. It's a good idea to learn and practice good common sense guidelines when
working with consumer types of fireworks, such as these fountains, or the popular common
sparkler. It's a good idea to appoint somebody to be the shooter who is not under the influence
of any type of drug or alcohol, and is a responsible type of person. It's also a good idea for
anybody handling something like a sparkler to keep a distance of at least six feet around
the user. It's also a good idea to remember that common consumer fireworks are meant for
outdoor use only; never under cover, like a pavilion or tent. And it's also a good idea
to have some type of extinguishment planned for, and properly at hand in a moments notice
if an injury or a fire occurs; something as simple as a charged garden hose, bucket of
normal water, or common multi-purpose fire extinguisher. Remember, practice, and learn
good common sense rules to have a safer, more exciting holiday season. I'm Captain Joe Bruni.
Stay safe, and we'll see ya' next time.
