Okay when you're top stitching, you might want to roll up the mat a little bit like
this, the parts that you're not stitching, to keep it out of the way. And then you just
need to follow along, and stop top stitch around all the pockets and all our zippers
and buttons. Go really slow over the thick and heavy parts, and make sure that your machine
can handle the extra thicknesses. And if you come to a really heavy part, you might want
to roll your flywheel and stitch that one stitch at a time. Just moving with your hand,
your flywheel and going through those really thick parts.
If you come to something like a hard button or a zipper, or even a belt loop, go right
up to it. Back up a little bit to knot and then just hop right over it and continue on.
It's fine if it's not sewed down every single place. And just reinforce around it and continue
on.
