Hi I am I Alex Read-Brain, the marketing director at superiorbeds.ch in Switzerland. I am on
the road travelling and I thought it would be good to bring you some updates of the beds
I sleep in in a video blog series called The Travelling Bed. This is entry number four.
Here I am in the spare room of a friend in Germany, and this is the bed and mattress
set-up that I’ve been sleeping on. It’s not much but it’s ideal for overnight guests,
maybe two nights. It’s actually a folding structure that is a folded Futon, but the
mattress is not a traditional Japanese-style futon mattress. It’s more of a latex mattress,
so if we just take a look at this quickly, what we’ve got here is the structure, um,
and there is absolutely no support under here. It’s just a hardwood frame, and you’ve
got, um, the structure of the couch that it folds up into, or the sofa it folds up into.
Now, um, the bed, the mattress itself has got a nice cover on it, so that can be washed,
um, but given my hand position I’ve use seen, I’ve been using the width of my hand
to measure and size mattresses along the way. This is by far the thinnest, and it’s probably
under 10 cm. It is pure latex, so it does get a little worn, um, but as a secondary,
or even as a third room setup, it’s overnight for, it’s great for overnight guests who
are crashing, It’s a little worn. It’s a little small, but if you’re tired and
you’re in town for a night or two it’s perfect, so my next episode will be coming
from friends in Southern Germany, so until then, travel safe, and be comfortable where
you sleep. Ciao!
