So let's prepare Sweet Karonda Launji today
Let's start with 250 gm karonda(Cranberry)
Karonda is available in two colours
The one in greenish white colour And the other one in reddish white colour
We are using reddish white karonda. They are too sour in taste
We take half a cup sugar
Two tablespoon oil
One tsp of fennel powder
One tsp of Coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
3/4 tsp salt or salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala (curry powder)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
A pinch of Asafoetida powder
So to make the Sweet Karonda Launji we firstly slice the karonda
You need to slice off the wands of karonda and divide the karonda into two
We have to slice all the karondas similarly into two pieces and keep aside
Now we prepare sweet karonda launji.
Heat the pan and pour the oil
After the oil gets heated up
Add cumin powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder and coriander powder
Slightly saute the mixture in the pan
And now we add sliced karonda to the pan
Add salt, red chilly powder, fennel powder, curry powder and mix them well
Stir fry the mixture for two minutes
So that the karonda is coated with the seasoning very well
The karonda is now coated with the seasoning very well
And now we add half a cup of water
Cover the pan with a lid and Let the mixture cook in low flame for 3-4 minutes and check it.
After 3-4 minutes we check the karonda
Stir well the mixture and check whether the karonda have become tender or not
If they have became tender, you need to add sugar to the karonda.
Let the sugar melt into the mixture
Cook the mixture until it becomes concentrated
The mixture has become tight and the Sweet Karonda Launji is finally ready
Pour the mixture to a bowl
Sweet and sour Karonda Launji is ready now
The dish is really tasty
We can serve the sweet karonda launji with chapati, poori, Parantha or rice.
The Sweet Karonda Launji can be used upto 8-10 days after refrigeration
