There's kind of this big debate with people who work from home, whether it helps your
productivity, to get up in the morning, to shower, and get dressed, as if you were going
to go to the office. Now, I don't think that anybody that who works from home, thinks that
you should put on a three piece suit and a tie, but the basic idea is, is it ok to just
get up, skip the shower, and work in your sweats? I'll tell you, this used to be my
version of dress pants for the office, was my sweatpants, and I wore sweatpants pretty
much every day, nonstop. I found that much to my husband's chagrin, I could wear the
same pair going for two to three days at a time, and I know maybe I'm the extreme case,
but it got to the point where for me, I did feel like if I got up first thing in the morning,
showered, got dressed, and didn't actually have to be, like formal business wear, but
put on some clothes that I wouldn't be embarrassed to answer the door in, that it did help with
my productivity. It kind of put me in the right mindset of ok, I'm up for the day. I'm
dressed. I'm ready to go, and even though the place where I was ready to go to, was
my home office, I still felt like that that psychologically, kind of created a shift for
me, but I will say that if that doesn't work for you, that is perfectly fine, because the
other side of the argument is, people saying you know what. You work from a home office,
and that's one of the perks, is you don't have to get up and do your hair, makeup, and
whatnot, so for the move, that is one of the big perks, that they can just kind of sit
down and work, whenever they feel like it, and they don't have to have that structured,
so if you find that you can be productive, without that. Then that's great, but that's
something that has helped me, and I found that it has helped a lot of other people that
I've spoken to, so it's something to think about.
