Parker helps you find the right parking space for you. In this video I'll show you how to
use Parker to find accessible spaces and then be directed to those spaces using Parker's
voice guidance features.
In this example I'll take the perspective of someone looking for parking at Oregon State
University.
The first thing you'll want to do is set your filters to have Parker only display accessible
parking spaces.
When on the "Search" page, tap on the Menu icon on the top right. Then tap on "Filter."
Make sure your filters are set to "ON," then under "Permits" select the ADA icon.
Tap on the menu icon again and you will be brought back to the search page. Note that
the bar on the top of your map now denotes that you are only viewing accessible parking
spaces.
If you're already near to where you want to park, or in this case on campus, when you
launched the Parker app tap on the arrow at the bottom left of your screen to center over
your current location.
You can now go ahead and turn on voice guidance.
Tap on the "Settings" icon on the bottom right of the app. Then slide the Voice Guidance
indicator from "OFF" to "ON".
Parker will now highlight your intended destination and give you basic voice directions such as
"parking ahead" or "parking to your right".
If coming to a location from afar the process is slightly different.
Again you'll have to bring you your destination centered in your map and zoomed in to street
level.
You can do that by either searching for the location in the search bar or using the places
directory for select locations.
To access the "Places" directory tap on the menu icon on the top right, then "Places"
and scroll to your desired location.
When selecting the location from the places directory, tap on the bubble with the number
in the middle to be brought down to the street level.
Next tap on the parking destination you'd like to be routed to. Then on the right turn
arrow icon.
This will launch your phone's built in routing and map app for turn by turn directions. Note
that iPhone 4 and older does not have turn-by-turn voice prompts.
You can return back to parker by tapping the home button, then on the Parker icon.
And with that you know what you need to find and be guided to accessible parking spaces.
