And, this was a matter of tracings and working out the idea and coming up with a balanced
act. And, then it went to the printer and the printer was the one who put it on here
in the gold. Printed it. And, of course I did the rest of the calligraphy also. Here's
another example of a monogram design. This is the original. So, the printer would take
the original and work from that. Lots of white out and corrections going on here. That's
kind of how that works. Here's one more example. This was also a wedding. So, see how I managed
to get a little heart in there? I really like the heart shape. So, that's three letters
being combined. I believe that's an I, a G and an M. So, monograms and alphabetic devices
here's a whole book on them. This is a Dover Publication. The Dover Publishers put out
a lot of really wonderful books for artists and graphic artists and calligraphers. So,
you might want to go to their website sometime. I have a vast collection of Dover books. But,
this is a place that I would probably look for inspiration if I didn't have something

see just from this cover. As you can see just from the cover, can be exceedingly elaborate.
It may not be the modern way to do it. But, there's also a way to go from something that's
very old fashioned looking to something that's modern holding onto some of the quality of
the old fashioned. So, that would be a fun trick for a calligrapher.
