What is your opinion of Frigidaire vs Electrolux washers and dryers?
Electrolux washers have trouble getting rid of all the water, so you get rust after a
few months and mold growth almost immediately.
I could air it out.
Not when the water collects inside the seal.
And given their price, they shouldn’t need to be aired out. I’m surprised they have
leakage and mold issues.
You shouldn’t be. Electrolux washers leak as much as their dishwashers and refrigerators.
Refrigerators shouldn’t leak. Well, maybe the ice makers.
Electrolux has Kelly Ripa as a spokes-model. They are expensive, beautiful and perform
poorly.
What does that mean? Electrolux appliances are an expensive, premium brand.
Electrolux washers and dryers have sleek European styling that looks cool in a model house.
They are energy efficient, too, even when they work.
You are implying they don’t work.
They have problems with leaks, electrical problems, control boards that are high tech
but malfunction regularly and mold.
Dryers don’t have problems with mold.
Their dryers have back plates that get so hot from poorly designed exhaust ports and
heater elements. The back of the dryer gets hot enough to create black flecks that can
get on the clothes.
That’s rather counter-productive, if the intent is to take out clean dry clothes after
running them through an Electrolux washer and dryer. So now you’re down to the Frigidaire
line.
Frigidaire washers are idle of the pack, worse than Maytag and Whirlpool but better than
LG and Samsung.
How reliable are Frigidaire washers and dryers?
Frigidaire front loading washers aren’t the most reliable, since that’s LG and Kenmore.
However, you can actually find repair people for them that don’t cost you an arm and
a leg.
Or a shirt and a skirt.
Electrolux units have as many failures as Frigidaire but cost twice as much to get fixed,
and they sometimes take multiple visits to get fixed.
I might as well buy a new unit for that price.
Or save yourself the headache and buy a Frigidaire.
