Hi, today we're going to be discussing Harley Davidson art, which is as varied as the motorcycle
itself. I'm Jeff Jannett, Harley Davidson master technician with South Side Choppers,
St Pete, FL, and today, our expert on this subject is going to be Paula Isler, Motor
Clothes and Collectibles Manager. Harley Davidson art can be found almost anywhere, it takes
on many formats. As you can see, Scott Jacobs is one of the most well-known. You'll find
a lot of these prints in the dealerships. Up above here, we have one by David Mann,
who is now deceased, and his paintings are other ones throughout the dealership. Then
you have Harley Davidson art that is put on postcards, it's put on ceramics, it's put
on pins, it's all over, it just depends what you're looking for. The bar and shield logo
is the authenticity to original Harley Davidson product. There's a mystique to that bar and
shield, it's a trademark. No one knows how it has originated, but if you do not see that
logo on an official piece of art, it is not a true piece of Harley Davidson art. It will
also say, "Licensed Product." So that is a way to make sure that you are getting an original
piece. You can also go on the internet. There are various artists out there with all kinds
of pictures of motorcycles, pictures of animals, pictures of famous people, old pictures of
the way, way back when Harley did their 101st anniversary, they did every motorcycle from
the beginning to the end, and they put it in like a poster format. They were only passed
out at the 100th anniversary, so that's considered an art collectible. If you go on ebay, you
can find these articles at various prices, but you can come in the aftermarket shops.
We carry, they're not a licensed product, but they are a Harley Davidson form of art.
You can also go in the dealership and there you will see the bar and shield logo on most
of their products that are in an art form. Thank you today for letting me speak about
Harley Davidson art. Again, my name is Paula Isler, I'm with South Side Choppers in St
Petersburg, FL, and we would love for you to come in and visit our shop, we do carry
a lot of the original Harley Davidson art.
