Today on our 2012 Chevy Suburban, were going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman XTC2
2 Bike Carrier for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number S64670. With our vehicle equipped
with a 2 inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled with our 2 inch bushing, we can
go ahead and slide the bike shank directly into the receiver tube and line up the hitch
pinholes. Then well install our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down, and install our
safety clip. As you can see with the anti-rattle bolt tightened down, it really takes out any
movement between the bike shank and the receiver tube. This is what our bike rack will look
like when its in stored position. Now lets go ahead and put the platform down on our
bike rack. We simply pull out the two pins, swing the
platforms down and reinstall our securing pins. Next well go ahead and take a couple
of measurements. From the nearest point of our platform to the nearest point of the bumper
is 7 inches and from the lowest point of our bike rack to the ground gives us 25 1/2 inches
of ground clearance. Next well go ahead and lower the center support arm and check for
rear cargo access. With our center support arm down, we can still gain rear cargo access.
