How to Eject an iPod from a Computer. Protect your tech investment by safely disconnecting
your iPod after syncing it with your PC or Mac. You will need A computer and itunes software.
Step 1. Select your iPod's name under Devices in the left- hand column of iTunes. Then click
on the Eject icon next to the device name, which looks like an up arrow with a line underneath.
Click on Controls in the menu bar in iTunes and select Eject. Step 2. Eject your device
from the desktop on a Mac by choosing Finder from the dock and selecting your iPod from
the list. Then click the top File menu and then Eject iPod. Use the shortcut keys Command
and E, pressed at the same time. Step 3. Eject your iPod from your PC's desktop by selecting
Start from the lower left task bar. Then select My Computer, right-click on the iPod drive,
and select Eject from the pop-up menu. Step 4. Simply unplug your iPod if the display
reads Charging or OK to disconnect, or if the iPod shuffle shows a solid amber or green
color. Step 5. Listen or feel to find out if the iPod's hard drive is spinning. If it's
not, unplug it from the computer and reset the iPod, which will save all data. Use this
last resort if the iPod still reads Do not disconnect after trying all other methods.
