So now that everything is really well scored, I'm going to set this back on and just firmly
but gently press that into it. And now we'll go ahead and cut, but I'm going to leave a
little bit of extra clay around the whole thing. The reason that I've left a little bit of
extra clay is because I can use that clay to smooth up into the base of the vase part
so that I know that I have a really secure connection, and that no water is going to
leak out of the bottom of this when I put water in it to make it a flower vase. And once you've got that smoothed in, just
give it your final shape, whatever you want that to be. I kind of want a little bit of
a curve. I want it to have an organic feel to it. And then take your sponge, and smooth
out those sharp edges from where you cut these tubes. And once you've got that done, this
piece is ready to dry and it's complete.
