>>Dude. Textbooks are expensive. I was hoping I could get them from the Library, but they
don't have my books. What's up with that?
>>Yeah, sometimes they have a book I need, but if it's in the main collection, I can
never get my hands on it because everyone in the class wants it. I
asked once at the Library and it turns out my professor had
put the textbooks on reserve.
>>Reserve? What's that?
>>It's when professors put books, articles or videos on reserve for their specific classes.
You can usually check them out for two hours at a time. It's
long enough to make copies and read, but short enough that everyone
from the class will be able use it.
>>That's cool.
>>And if you're really lucky, some of them might even be available online.
>>No way!
>>Way!
>>How do I see if my books are on reserve?
>>Do you know your professor's name?
>>Totes.
>>You can search by the professor's name in the online catalog. If you can't find anything
you can also search by course number. If nothing turns up, you should
ask your professor if he'd be willing to put the textbook
on reserve for the class at the Library. It worked for me.
>>Thanks!
