Hello and welcome to a review of the 2013 google nexus 7
Here I have the 32gb wifi version in black You can also get the nexus 7 in a 16gb variant
and with mobile data capabilities, as well as in white
The nexus 7 has a 1.5ghz quad core snapdragon s4 processor, along with 2gb of RAM and an
Adreno 320 graphics chip that all run together smoothly
The form factor of the nexus 7 is great, it's not too big to hold in one hand and the bezels
are just the right size so that your thumbs don't block the screen when you're holding
it in landscape The matt finish is a nice touch, making it
feel almost pebble like, and giving it just enough grip
At the top, there's a 5mp camera and on the front there's a 1.2mp camera which isn't too
great to be honest Round the back we have a 3.5 mm audio jack
stereo speakers which sound brilliant and a 3950 mah battery
The gloss volume rocker and power button have a solid feel and I've never had any problems
with them at all The start up time of the nexus 7 seems relatively
slow in comparison to quick computers nowadays, on mine which is filled with many apps and
videos, it took about 35 seconds to boot 35 seconds doesn't sound too long, but when
you're watching it it seems like absolutely ages
AS it is a nexus device, the nexus 7 runs the latest android operating system, which
is 4.4 KitKat This version is very fast and responsive as
you can see and has a few new features, such as printing options in settings and it has
a much cleaner, simpler look than previous android versions
KitKat is definitely the best android software yet in my opinion and I'm yet to find any
major bugs However, very occasionally it has crashed
which means I have had to do a hard reboot. On to the screen, which is my favourite aspect
of the nexus 7 The 1920 by 1200 pixel display is razor sharp,
in fact I really struggled to see any pixels at all.
The brightness is absolutely fantastic and allows for easy visibility outdoors.
The colours are vibrant and it's great for watching films and playing games.
I hdo have one criticism however, whioch is youtube videos.
Perhaps due to the mismatch in pixels, they seem a bit fuzzy, even at 1080p
If you're into mobile gaming, the nexus 7 could be the perfect tablet for you
The screen size is just right for casual games and graphically intensive games as well.
Demanding games such as Dead Trigger, Need For Speed and FIFA 14 all run with next to
no lag at all. So to conclude, the nexus 7 is the best alll
round tablet on the market, it has a gorgeous screen, it's fast and importantly, it's very
cheap for what it is. Starting at £200, it's cheap in comparison
to competitors such as the retina display iPad Mini, which is £319
If you want a tablet for entertainment, work and play, look no further.
