also huge news coming from the medical world a scientific breakthrough
that could prevent a significant portion
have cancer related deaths this is out of Cornell Cornell professor of medical
by ongo
I'm sorry a biomedical engineering Michael King
started research four and a half years ago and he has shown that when
nano-particles go into the bloodstream they stick to white blood cells
if the cancer cell makes its way
into the blood and bumps into one of these
modified white blood cells that has been researched by
Cornell University called sticky
nano-particles basically cancer killing machine
nano-particles it can actually disintegrate
cancer cells and some
are saying including the engineers conducting the research
that it could pave the way war
preventing I guess is the term ninety percent
have cancer deaths the study which we will link you when the YouTube video
is called trail coded leukocytes
that kill cancer cells in the circulation
this is this is a huge deal we know
that there have been some
advancements when it comes to cancer treatment and there is an expectation
from so-called experts in the field that in the next five to 10 years there will
be
significant advancements for treating or preventing
some of the major most common types have cancer
it's time to make progress on this Louis and my true and honest concern
is not that progress will be made or will be possible medically are
technologically
but that the combination about our health care system
our financial system and Big Pharma
will keep the best revolutionary treatment either from being developed
or from going mainstream or for from being affordable for the average person
that's truly my concern
right I it's it's very rare that you hear
that a pharmaceutical has had a breakthrough in any type of cancer
treatment technology I can ever remember hearing about that
it's always independent researchers universities and
the things like that well that there have been significant breakthroughs in
terms of the treatment right in terms of the drugs available to keep people alive
which is
of course very very important those have come from Big Pharma
but we still have to question whether a cure is something they would be they
would have a financial interest in
maybe the TPP extending their patents would make them more interested in
developing something like that who knows
possibly yeah with regard to the drugs I mean I know
they're important in a day seem to work but I don't know maybe they could have
developed something that works better on me maybe this is just part of the
problem
