You have type 2 diabetes and you're taking Actos. You've
recently heard that the FDA has issued some sort of safety alert
in connection with Actos. What is this about? What do you need
to know? Hi. I'm Bernard Daskal of Lynch Daskal Emery. I
represent individuals who have been harmed from pharmaceuticals
and medical devices. And today, I'm going to speak to you about
the FDA alert concerning the use of Actos. Actos contains a
chemical compound that's used to improve the control of blood
sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. In June of 2011, the
FDA warned that recent studies show that people taking Actos
for a year or more may be at an increased risk for getting
bladder cancer. Why am I telling you this? Well if you have
symptoms of bladder cancer - for example - blood in the urine, or
you've had a urinalysis that shows increased white blood
count in your urine, or if you have a history of bladder
cancer, you need to speak with your doctor. Our firm has
represented individuals who have been harmed by pharmaceuticals
including Actos. If you have questions, give me a call. My
number is 800-585-1190. My firm handles pharmaceutical cases
every day. I'm Bernard Daskal. Thank you or watching.
