>>ANCHOR: He hasn't even graduated yet and already an RIT film student is an award-winning
director. >>MUSIC: Never be the same way, in your time,
in your life. >>ANCHOR: 21-year-old Ben Disinger made this
video for the band Manchester Orchestra, the song "***." It started as a project for
his experimental filmmaking class. Then the band came to town in May and Disinger asked
permission to use their song for his project. They loved it, and now his video is the official
music video for the song. >>BEN DISINGER: To meet them in person is
one thing. But to meet them in person and show them your artwork, something that you
hold so dear to you, and actually have them appreciate it and enjoy it the way they did,
it's one of the best feelings ever. It's absolutely incredible.
>>ANCHOR: And there's more. The piece won best music video at the LA Reel Film Festival.
Desinger took the best director honor. He doesn't want all the credit though. His roommate
Bo did the special effects for it. He has one more year at RIT and then he's heading
to L.A. >>We sometimes forget the tremendous graphics
program and arts program that RIT has to offer. Its technical aspects are a lot more creative
than they used to be. >>Yeah, it's impressive.
