Dearly beloved, we're gathered here today to mark the passing of someone many may have cause to hate.
For he inspired much hate in others.
But most of all remember hate has no value to change the heart or make the world a better place.
As our Lord commanded in the book of Matthew: Love your enemies. Bless them that curse you.
Be good to them that hate you and pray for them.
So we gather here to assist this soul on his passage into the great beyond. Let us pray.
Almighty God, bless our...
To be honest I'm glad he's gone. He caused me nothing but grief.
Yeah, that homewrecker will never come between our marriage again.
Son: Yeah, he stole my childhood.
But daddy, didn't anyone love him?
I don't think love is the right word sweetheart. All he ever did was make people feel justified in their bigotry.
He hurt our family a lot. I don't think anyone will miss him.
But for all he did to us, he really made me a better man. He made me fight for my family and work hard for my community.
But dad, you always said how much you hated him.
But Daniel, we wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for him. Think of all the cool things we've done and all of the really neat people we've met.
Yes kids, even though we may not like him and even though we are all glad he's gone, we must not forget what he
he taught us. To love and to speak up for each other. Even the bad can do a little good sometimes.
And may the spirit of our Lord guide him to everlasting rest. AMEN.
