Hey all!
I'm Marie Kristanek and I am French.
From the end of August to the end of December of 2013
I was studying in Texas, that is in the United States of America
As part of my second and last year of my Master degree Image, International and Interactivity
that I'm completing right now
at the IAE of the University of Savoie in Annecy
I spent a semester studying in Denton,
at about 40 min from Dallas
that is, HERE.
Why studying abroad?
Well, I wanted to experiment a new educational system
I also wanted to meet people and students from all over the world
and I really wanted to discover both a new country and a new culture
Why the USA?
I wanted to improve my English
and, come on, that's the USA!
Why Texas?
Well, OK,
That was the only state my university had an agreement with
But that was perfect, I really enjoyed it!
Oh, and please tell me that since you've heard me saying Texas,
you're not actually thinking at this and this.
You are? Ok.
Please, let me tell you what it really is.
With its 50000 students, Denton is a college town.
I was studying at the University of North Texas,
with 36000 other students. A lot.
Students are from the 50 states of the USA
So really, don't worry about the Texan accent cause you won't hear it a lot.
Besides, they are more than 2000 international students at UNT
and they come from all over the world.
And you know what? As a French, you'll be quite liked!
If you think that they might be boring or old school because they're from Texas
I need to stop you right know.
Denton is very well know for its active music life
and there will be a lot of things to do on campus. Everyday.
Besides, you'll have an enormous choice of classes like
arts, visual design, communication, film production
What else? Web classes, and so on.
I had communication class
and others about international cultures
since I was studying abroad. That was my choice.
You really should consider studying there in Denton.
It's a very good oportunity
You'll spend a semester, a study semester like an American student
on an American campus, like you can see it in TV series
and it's very worth the experience.
Moreover, you won't have to pay the astronomic educational fees because
and only because, it's an exchange programme. So, really, GO!
If you need more information,
don't hesitate to send me an email by clicking here
Or you can also have a look on my blog that I wrote while I was there.
It's in French and there is a lot of information.
Bye!
