Good morning, My name is Marcia Keenan
I'm a patient at Sierra Integrative
Medical Center in Reno. I've had Lyme
disease since 1999. The typical story of all of us Lyme
people: It was eight years of one thing going wrong
after another before I finally
found a doctor who diagnosed it my first day in his office.
So that was in California and I started
treatment with him for Lyme disease and I did several years
on oral antibiotics, up to three or four different types per day
and finally IV antibiotics
along with shots until I went into
renal failure. I stopped
that treatment and stayed under that doctor's care and tried strictly doing
natural things in the Bay Area
until last October
when I knew the Lyme was relapsing and was coming back
with a vengeance. By the end of January I could
no longer drive, had brain fog, could not read
my kidneys were going into
failure again;
I was a very sick person. I
had read some articles in the newspaper and they were written
by Chuck Norris about Lyme disease. He had mentioned
Sierra Integrative Medical Center. For some reason I could remember that and I
called
and I made an appointment about a year
and two weeks ago and came to Reno and
was treated at the clinic. I was six weeks here
with a challenging treatment, but it has been worth it.
I've got my health back I just had my yearly checkup
no spirochetes, no sign of Lyme. I hike
five to six days a week several miles.
I do Pilates and I am blessed with
excellent health again. I got my life back
thanks to this place. I just wish more people knew about it
and didn't allow their health to continue to deteriorate
by going the antibiotic way. It
just compounds the issue of Lyme disease.
So now I'm working on getting even healthier and stronger
and undoing some of the issues that developed during
all these years of having Lyme disease.
