So here is our second sock with the snout cut out of it. And so out of this sock we
are going to cut two arms and a tail and some ears if we want some ears. So at this point
you just make a decision. Do you like a monkey with long arms or do you like a monkey with
a long tail? I mean they are about the same length but the part that goes from the heel
to the toe is a little bit shorter than the part that goes from the heel to the top of
the sock. So if you want long arms take the arms out of here and you will take the tail
out of this part. If you prefer a long tail and slightly shorter arms do it the other
way around. I like, I think today I am going to do long arms. So what I am going to do
is just kind of basically going to cut this off over here. Just go ahead and square this
off kind of where we took the snout out of. And kind of these socks of these socks are
kind of grabbing the scissors but there we go, okay. So I squared that off and now we
got to get both arms out of this. So what I am going to do is I need to cut this down
the middle and then each one will sew up into a tube into an arm. But similar to the way
we did the legs I am not going to just slice through this. I am going to do it one side
then I am going to do the other. So I am going to make two separate cuts just too kind of
you know kind of keep it about even and some what symmetrical. And so here I am just kind
of cutting down. I just like I say I want to make two pieces here each of which will
be sewn into a little tube to become a sock monkey arm extraordinary. Okay here we go.
And this cut is almost finished. Yeah okay. And you flip it and same thing. Let's see
I just kind of use the creases from the sock. You know if you make these from old socks
you are not really necessarily going to have the creases to help you out but just eyeball
it. And if you want to I mean if you are not really good at eyeballing things, I am because
I am a carpenter's daughter and he eyeballs things all the time. You kind of do it that
way. But if you have a hard time eyeballing it just make a little mark on there with a
felt tip pen or you know just something so that you even draw a line with a ruler if
you need to kind of get that guideline. So I am just kind of you know cutting straight
trying to make two pretty close to equivalent halves here. Just got a little bit more to
go. And a couple more cuts. And like and other project in sewing it doesn't matter if the
edges are rough because they are going to get you know you know folded under and hemmed
up anyways. There we go. So here are the arms. Let's just kind of go back to assembly and
see what it looks like. Body, but, legs and snout will be here and then the arms usually
put the white part outwards cause it's like the hands of the monkey and so they will kind
of go like that. So we still need to cut a tail and some ears.
