What's up everybody? Justin Hays here from SuperhumanPursuits.com. When I'm out on the
Internet and I'm looking at Reddit or forums or anywhere that people are posting about
general fitness oriented stuff, one of the main things I always see is, "What's going
on with my squat form?"
People post pictures, or they'll post videos. Then they'll ask the masses,
"Hey, what can I do to make my squat form better?"
Inevitably they'll get a broad scope of answers, somebody saying, "It's a core related issue."
"Oh it's ankle mobility." "Your hips aren't working properly."
That's the thing is that you're getting that breadth of answers because there are so many
possibilities of where the problem could be, where it could lie, and because the squat
is a very complicated movement. It's almost the apex of exercise, meaning that it taxes
your mobility, your ability to move, and your stability, your ability to control that movement
and each joint in your body.
So if you are out there and you are looking for answers to squat form related issues,
let me be a little bit of a guide and tell you that it's a very difficult with a movement
that complex to describe exactly what issue you might be having. Even professionals, people
that have an unbelievable eye for human movement, they won't look at just the squat. They'll
take the squat and they'll dissect that into different pieces to try to better identify
what might be going on.
What can you personally do to correct your squat form? Well, the idea is that you would
want to take the same course of action that a professional is, and that would be taking
that movement down a notch, regressing to something simpler, and maybe looking at something
like your active straight leg raise, a bird dog, or your half kneeling stance and how
that looks. These are kind of going to give you more signs as to what the underlying issues
may be that are preventing you from squatting.
Don't know what any of this stuff is? I get you. Please, I'd be more than happy to help.

please share it. Thanks.
