Especially on a weekend like the past one, where millions have been putting up videos
The Search databases can take much longer than usual to update
This is called database latency, and it's
perfectly normal. If you
don't have that kind of latency, you have to update the
databases
instantly
things would bog down
and
it almost nothing would work
At heavy load times, when a lot of people are uploading videos, it can take
even longer than the usual 48 hours for
databases to update.
It seems like at this point
it can take as long as a week for
videos to show up in search.
Obviously, no one wants to hear that
but that seems to be the way it is right now.
As a practical matter
what you can do about it is to take any promotional steps that are available to
you, to promote your videos. Some of these would include passing the video on to your Facebook,
Twitter and other social networking contacts.
embedding your videos on your blog, or outside forums or other sites that might
welcome videos on the topic you
have chosen --
posting videos as responses to other videos on YouTube so that
videos that do show up in search
Might link to the video that you've just made
emailing the video link to your friends and or
enemies
If you're involved in one of the many communities that
largely involves
debating
squabbles and
generates a lot of traffic.
Feel free to suggest any other work arounds in the comments to this video.
in the meantime the best thing to do it is to ensure that the title, description and
tags are all the way you want them to be
and leave them alone after that because every time you make a change, it resets the database
updating process
and tends to add to the time that it takes for the database to update.
Hope this helps!
