doing random acts of kindness and not expecting anything in return
So don't forget to pay it forward and enhance the woodson community this January
The Woodson pay it forward campaign begins January
And now its time the Cav Corner by Woodson's DECA club
Lets go see whats going on inside Woodsons DECA.
Hi my name is Mr. Johnson and I teach Buisness and Information of Technolgy
and Marketing here at Woodson
Hi Im Lauren and Im president of DECA
My name is Josiah Day
DECA is a co-curricular student Organization
That either buisness or marketing students can join
Its offered everywhere in the US
Everywhere Internationally, and its a good oppertunity for students.
I joined DECA to be around my peers
And learn how to be prefessional.
I joined DECA because Im very interested
In Buisiness
And I took a intro level Sports-Marketing
Buisiness class and it really appealed to me
And I thought I could gain alot from it
Ive been in DECA for four years now since I was a Freshmen
Ive been in DECA for 3 years
But I have only been in a leadership role for 2 years.
My favorite activity is probably doing community service with my members
And also potluck dinners
My favorite part of DECA definetly hasw to be the district level competition.
Where DECA students from all over gather at Lake Braddock and we have a competition.
Students gain confidence being in DECA, they gain leadership skills.
They have an oppertunity to meet students they may not otherwise associate with.
And they also get to compete in various competitions.
Both at the District, State, and National levels.
Being from DECA I have gained a better understanding of how Buisiness works.
and how the real life job enviroment is after high school.
In high school we have a really sheltered enviroment while DECA gives you
An idea of what its like to have interpersonal communications with people that could be
Your potential bosses, and gives you an understanding of how to suceed.
Being in DECA I gained a professional attitude
and I gained peers, friends, and fun activities.
I defienetly would recommend DECA to any students.
It can get you connections. They have it in colleges and high schools.
Students who are interested in DECA can come see myself in A-136
or Mr. Dodd in room A-140 or they can see our chapter president Lauren
Tune in to the next edition of the cav corner where we will feature
Page magazine, woodsons Art and Literary Magazine.
Thats all for today!
Stay classy Woodson
