In this section we are going to talk about turning a double play from third base, from
third to first. It's called the five three double play. Now, when the ball is hit to
the left side of third base, third baseman will field her position and the situation
can only present itself as is: the runner has to be on first and second and less than
two outs or it can be the bases loaded to do this. The ball will be hit to third base,
third baseman fields the ball, she will tag third base, now securing one out, and throw
the ball across the field to first base for the other force out. Remember, in turning a five three double play
the situation has to present itself just as is; less than two outs and runners at least
at first and second base in order for the third baseman to get the force out at third
and throw the ball across the field to first base for the second out. And that's how we
turn a five three double play.
