Fred Phelps who is the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church
is in a hospital or hospice somewhere in Kansas and he is said to be dying
now the person who broke this news with his estranged son
Nate Phelps and he %uh posted online that he's not sure how he feels about
this
he says it's terribly ironic that his devotion to his God
and this way destroyed by the monster he made
soulmate is obviously not a fan of his father again they are estranged
but this caused me to look into
Fred Phelps past end-user really interesting
past that I'm not expect so before you knew was passed which is interesting
at you know it's passing this relationship to go sour between family
members because
he's nate is mad that he's not allowed to see is that because the people so the
family
is keeping the non hateful side away from him even is
possible death bed ride arm so
he says is that became a monster but it still is that anyone to go see him in
the hospital
and he's pissed the rest the family they won't let him see it and then there's a
drama about how
Phelps was excommunicated by the Westboro Baptist Church
but the Westboro Baptist Church continues to believe that God's
hates *** so there's like hate within the hate
and then his the not hate part its crazy
yeah it's a huge makes up now on top of that at the confusion
ok for Fred Phelps use to be okay so
Phelps was a civil rights attorney back in the nineteen sixties
and his client's were for the most part black
and they were discriminated against they were victims of the Jim Crow era
and he went out of his way to defend them and protect them which you wouldn't
expect because again
the founder of the church that goes to the funerals a dead soldiers
just a protest in say that God hates backs okay
it's amazing to me that he was a defender of civil rights back in the
sixties
I should also note that his family got a lot
love heat thrown out them because what he did for a living
on people would call them you know i'm just quoting them they would say the
word *** lovers'
I mean to be just had a lot of violent threats against them
so it's just incredible to me that that happened but he was also disbarred
in the nineteen seventies because apparently there was a court reporter
who didn't get him his transcript in time and then he was furious about it
so escalated to the point where they were in court this went to court
and she was a bust and and then he started asking her questions and he
called her a ***
he started doing *** innuendo and just like putting her down and making
her feel uncomfortable and it got to the point where
he got completely disbarred is aware so
there's some chance to Fred Phelps just snapped and he has some sort of
psychological condition a
and has had it for a long time what's amazing is that people then followed
I know I think bill I go OK 08
it with europe by the wayside the soldiers they got everybody's funeral
you know that's in the news and try to disrupt that funeral
are vicious about it really and get as much attention as possible right there
hateful cause no of course everybody knows wondering whether
people will protest at his funeral good
that much respect for the dead in that regard because the easel in that respect
for the dead when he was around
I'm not sure I agree with that graphic you know where were the labs then
I know rhymes but low but I I don't wish anybody
harm in this guy obviously is a maniac so
its it's hard to hate someone when you know
to what degree there maniac you see what i'm saying let me ask you something
I I have more interesting facts on him but I got asking this question at a time
if someone lived a hateful life where they went out of their way to make
people miserable
is it bad to wish for their dad good question
I think it depends on the severity I think when it's just words
as atrocious as his actions and words were
yeah I'm gonna say we shouldn't do that okay don't get me wrong
I'm tempted to go on a
on the
Nana
okay but I I don't think so but if you got a guy like a real castro
who kept the women locked up in a basement in all the horrible things he
did to them
it's hard not to root for so
I'm gonna say it depends guy one final thing that I had to share about Fred
Phelps
edges blew my mind he actually ran for office in Kansas four separate times
the fourth time he won about 30 percent of the vote
and he ran as a Democrat yet look
I i'm not surprised while that remember filler the
mayor of San Diego love the famous film her head lock code that all those
*** harassment and Oct and some no *** assault
and we'll grab women in his office in like to put him in a headlock and then
whisper in their here like oh yeah i watch all in like two crazy *** right
he was a freedom rider he went on
a bus is to the segregated south and was willing to get
spear on and attack and do all those things
to make sure blacks the same ices whites in this country
so Lok people are complicated
yeah and also the change sometimes maybe they were headed in the right direction
and the ticket is actually it was third for the wrong direction never know what
happened in their lives
that could lead to that but okay I lied one final thing that I thought was
really interesting
go founded the Westboro Baptist Church right
well he actually sued the reagan administration
because it turned out the Ragin appointed a US ambassador to the Vatican
and he thought that was a violation up the separation of church and state
man so back in the day he was a massively secular
million so because you say hey maybe was for black people would really hate gay
people
but baby know he was really right about a lot of things including being secular
before he made that turn fascinating stuff
