- Hello everyone!
You can see the current captain of Na'Vi
Daniil Zeus
Hi!
- Hello everyone!
- Are you still the captain of the team?
- Yes, This is still my role
- ok, we've gathered with a new lineup in Kiev for a bootcamp
the 1st question is - how is it?
- everything is fine
to tell the truth we've already got a bit tired
we've gathered here to prepare for the championship
which will be held in Romania these days
we were disappointed with important official matches
I mean MSI Beat
where we haven't passed the group stage and etc
there was a championship ESL, StarLadder
so we haven't implemented our idea in a completely
in general I'd say we have a good shape
I like our play, despite the gaps
everything is fine
I'm satisfied with the bootcamp as well as the new lineup
I think that we've managed to get rather a fine shape
for such a short period of time
as we've been practicing for almost 2 weeks with a new lineup
- well, for 3 weeks already, but
you've won fnatic, played a draw with VeryGames
- yes, we were leading the score recently and we were very confident
I guess we failed because of nerves
our opponents were well prepared to play with us
as for us, we should have pulled ourselves together
then we would had played a draw
I can't say we were too relaxed
I'd say we were too nervous
because it seemed like the victory was so close
the new lineup, we were so excited
though we haven't got used to each other completely yet
as well as to the teamplay
these are certain disavantages of the change but
I think we're on the right way and we'll fix these issues in the nearest future and
we won't loose our games
- Let's speak about the changes in the lineup
what was the reason for you to do so?
- the reason was that 2 players left our team
- it is obvious
why did they leave? what do you think? what were their reasons to do so?
- of course, they had their own reasons to leave
I guess Markeloff left because he wanted new emotions
as far as I know he wanted to play with his friend Angel
well, he strived for new emotions and experience so
he told us that he was going to leave the team
he had been thinking a lot on this decision
he was analyzing the situation and in one point of view he decided to risk it all
at the same time he understood he would have decent conditions and strong lineup
with the Top players, so he didn't loose anything in this situation excepting
his home and family Na'Vi
as for Ioann he had a bit different reasons to leave but somehow
they were similar to Markeloff's ones
I guess their decisions were influenced by the lack of victories as well
we started getting to the Top recently
we were getting closer to the victory
there 2 issues making me so sad about their leaving
the 1st one is that we were together for so long
much hard work was done in order to get positive results
we trained a lot and made many things together and I think
that our 2nd places on StarLadder with our previous lineup
when we lost to MIX in Czech Republic
in any case we played well
we won 2 maps with NiP on the LAN
we could win the whole game as well
but we were a bit unlucky
I think if we were in the same lineup we could just fix some problems
finish our work and become the champions
this makes my sad as a captain
it took me so much time and efforts to encourage the team
the 2nd issue is that I guess I had some ambitions or even offenses at the beginning
because of their 1st reason of leaving
it happened because they were my friends
we went through many things together
I feel I'm lack of the emotions they gave me
I try to believe everything done is for better
I'm happy despite all the bad things happened
I like these new guys
- tell us why you chose them?
as far as I know you know Seized for long, he changed some players
as for Kibaken, he's Seized's friend I guess
how did they get to the team?
- As for Seized, I looked up to the horoscope
- really?
-yes, there were many parameters to choose the players
- did you look up at their date of birth?
- I believe in some moments dealing with astrology
- you're kidding, right?
- no, I'm not
- I noticed that I like the character of Virgo
Seized is a Virgo
I know he's very purposeful
I know he goes to the end and never gives up
I could feel it in his temper etc
that was the personal preference
first of all he's a great player and I saw I can make a strong player of him
in addition to that he was a captain in his team and he understands
how to read the game and the opponent
he knows many interesting and useful things
so it was easy to make this decision
as for Kibaken, there was no astrology in this case
to tell the truth there were so many players for his place
- I heard about the Poles
- yes, there were the Polish players, even Guardian and kenny
there were different situations, like applicants' refusals,
or we understood that there would be nothing good to play with this person
as there was a language barrier
or we understood that it would be difficult as we didn't know what to expect from this person
- what about Kucher?
- we were thinking about this variant
as he's a nice player
we communicated well with him
we just thought it would be great to take young players at that moment
I remember myself when I was 18-20 years old
I got to Virtus.pro
I was living the game for 200%
I think that these new guys will make their best
I watched a few games with Kibaken, listened to Seized opinion
we discussed this choice with the Ceh9 and Starix
we decided that we'll take Kibaken to our team
I can say this guy has showed himself enough during these 2 weeks
at this stage he shows great playing skills
I hope to see the progress in the future and everything seems to be fine
- I agree with you as for the game
as it's interesting to watch
the next question deals with DreamHack Bucharest
- oh, Bucharest
- not the Bucharest you've thought about, but the DreamHack
- there will be Astana Dragons and 2 Romanian teams in your group
how are you going to play on the LAN?
- and which plans do we have?
- not plans but expectations.
- what can I say about Astana?
the team is strong, unpredictable
it's often difficult to find out the direction of their attack
as these guys play like mix more often than like the team
they together decide what to do on randoms
- they don't train for long together
- that's right
- well, it's difficult to play with them because of that
in addition to that, there are many Top players there
I expect to play hard with this team
I think we have chances to win
it won't be easy
so I understand that our task is to play our game and show our best
the result will depend on us
first of all we have to pull ourselves together and win the Romanian teams
then pass the group stage and then play hard with the rest teams on the play-off
I can tell you my opinion that NiP is strong, plays hard and leaves behind the rest teams
I like them because these guys don't stop
they win all the tournaments and we can see how professional they are
they go on practicing
they do that on maximum
we can see the weaker teams stop training but NiP carries on doing that
they want to be the champions, they work hard and they get what they want
that's why NiP will be the favorites at the tournament
well, there will be gathered the Top teams in Bucharest
there many strong teams and we can see that every of them can be the winner
I can mention VeryGames, Copenhagen Wolves and fnatic which play is very unusual
they can win easily or loose the rounds
I can make an example
they won Astana online
the score was great
they won 2 maps there but at the same time they lost them on the LAN
there's something unclear here
though they've always showed their best on the LAN
our task is to pull ourselves together at the tournament
to be the one
to show our best and demonstrate the game we were preparing for so long
I think that if we are very lucky and won't play with NiP for example at the early stage
I think we'll be able to win any team except them on the tournament
or even NiP thug it will be very difficult
I think that playing on the LAN we'll be nervous
as these guys play really hard
I'd like to be in Top 3
if everything is fine we're going to win this tournament
these are our aims
as for me, the most important thing is to play our game
I don't want anything to influence at it
like the team's nerves, because it's the 1st LAN for the guys in the new lineup
it might be some kind of vanity or panic
these were the reasons of our loss in the matches where we were leaders
with the score of 14-7, 15-9, 12-3, 11-4 etc
we lost them because of strange mistakes
I don't want it to be like this at the tournament
i want to play our games for the maximum
to pull ourselves together and show what we can
and show the game we have prepared
if it will be like this I'm sure we'll succeed
- I want to ask you one question, I've done it before, but still
I think it's Na'Vi's curse to lose the games they've almost won
- Na'Vi's curse?
- yes
- no, it isn't Na'Vi's curse, but the curse of the new lineup
as we haven't used to play together to the end
as we have to play accurately, easy and confidently
to play the situation 3-2 on the plant where you have advantages
but we start to rustle, misunderstand each other, we start to make unconfident actions
there's a failure to tell all and all this stuff makes the result
I think that in another situation we wouldn't give such rounds away
- do you train such prepared situations like
2 players hold the plant and 3 play
or vice versa
- we don't prepare them but we came to the conclusion
especially after the recent days that we need to be very cool and calm
while playing the situations after the exchange
I mean we don't have to panic
but to understand what we should do
do everything calm and together
make everything very accurate
I can see we are making progress recently
not so quickly but still
I can say I like it
I'm satisfied with it
- in any case
the lineup exists for 3 weeks only
maybe a bit more
- not more, we've been training approximately since August 20
- in any caseů
which aims did the organization made for you?
- to be in the Top
first of all we make our aims by ourselves
to be in Top 3 or Top2
to carry on getting better
I can say we play at the same level with the Top teams
we started to play well during the short period of time
even if we have a draw, we make to not with the team Top 18
but with the team Top2 -Top 3 of the world
for example VeryGames who constantly gain the Top places
the problem is that, as I mentioned before
I want to fix the moments with the nervousness
as there's always some kind of exchange among the Top teams
like you killed 2 opponents,
they killed 2 of your players
there's a situation of 3-3, 3-2, 3-4
i can mention NiP
they act so cool in such situations
they won so many rounds when the situation wasn't favorable for them
it's very important to act right here
first of all they don't suffer losses
it's rarity when they have 3-2
in addition they take away their opponent's players
it's rare thing when they play with minority against majority
even in these cases they seem to lose in a moment
they lost maybe only 2 tournaments from 40 ones
at the rest ones they were the winners
at the same time there were matches when they could loose
like at the group stage of the DreamHack
they were as cool as cucumber to play well
later they got shape at the tournament and became the winners
though it seemed like they could loose it at any moment
here we can see the result of their professionalism, gained in additional trainings
- I noticed their professionalism in the fact that they play all the maps
as for you, you play only 3
- now we play 4 maps
- at the tournament MSI Beat or at the EMS One
you played 16-3 with them
on de_cache
- we haven't played this map at all
I will explain you this situation
they know the maps we are playing and preparing
their well prepared map was de_train
we made our own play on this map that's why
paid less attention to it
for Bucharest in Romania and
we didn't want to start playing from NiP
we decided to risk it all and play
- play the map you can't play at all?
we understood that we were likely to loose de_train against them
as that was their strongest map and we haven't prepared it at all
we had certain strategies we didn't want to show at that game before Bucharest
that map was huge and we didn't practice in playing it
our aim was to get certain points there and we did it
that's why we didn't worry, played for ourselves and
lost to NiP, though we tried to make something together
in order to dominate at least at the beginning
we were trying our best hoping to succeed
later we understood that the guys were playing this map for long
there was a nuance that Seized doesn't know this map at all
I asked him whether he knew it and he answered he saw it in the movies
I even didn't know about this fact
at the moment we decided to play with NiP
maybe that was my fail but nothing serious happened
we didn't care about this game at all
if it was another game and another team we'd certainly played de_train or
another map but playing with NiP
we understood that that was their strongest map
we decided to risk hoping to play on another map
where we are stronger and we had more chances
we hoped we wouldn't play in this map with them
but they are smart
they knew which maps we usually play and prepare
they saw it on online tournaments
they understood on which maps we were weaker
well, now we can see the result
- as far as I know you've managed to appoint each other for a fee times
now Starix is your sniper
why do you change it?
- he was the sniper from the beginning when Markeloff left
- what about the new players? can they take this role?
- Seized can be the 2nd sniper if necessary
though there are many strong snipers in the world
especially in the new game
there is new fast zoom, etc
you have to know special issues, make another movements
the smokes and flashes are really hard
that's why I think one should play very long to play well
as one should be great in aiming, movements, taking positions etc
that's why it will be better to have one great sniper than 2 random ones
when it's unclear whether they play well or fail
that's why Seizes is a guy who plays with devices now
if necessary he can take the awp but now we play like this
we make some strategies and set this game somehow
we finish our training of it
today was the last day
- you're leaving for Bucharest tomorrow?
- tomorrow we have a free day and the day after tomorrow we leave
- fine, let's finish our interview but I'd like to ask you one more question
- ask me honey
you can ask even 2 questions :)
- I'd ask only 1
you're already an adult person
don't hide it
I wonder those people who are 30 already
what do they feel about their age?
I mean in comparison to the new players
- I'm already 25
- 21
- what about your motivation? you already have a child
- I have a child for nearly 3 years
I've got an excellent motivation
we had a choice after the guys' leaving
to give up playing and start working as we had certain suggestions
to develop the eSports in Na'Vi organization
we've been thinking and discussing this topic a lot and decided that
we still have a desire, motivation and power to continue
certainly now everything seems to be more difficult and not so easy as it was before
as for me I feel I'm in a good shape
I gained it for a certain period of time
- you've gained in weight as well
I mean muscles
- well, I was in the gym
now due to the age you can make right priorities
you understand that you aren't so young and a bit crazy when you can do everything you want
you have certain duties
especially when you're some kind of a role model for younger guys
you can't afford yourself to miss the trainings or be late
or not to carry out the duties of the captain etc
you must show our own example
and do so much work as a captain
it was hard, I got really tired at this bootcamp
we've spent nearly 10 days here
- have a good rest tomorrow
every day is like a ground-hog day
it was great that Seized had his birthday
we spent a great time in karaoke
I feel we should have a good rest tomorrow and
go to the championship with a positive but decisive mood
the online games are fine, we had a nice experience
- but LAN is totally different thing
- I want us to pull ourselves together
it's very important thing for us that our fans stay with us despite all the negative factors
I'm happy that so many people support us
they believe in our new lineup, in our team
we'll show our best
guys, stay with us
I'm sure that we'll succeed together
Na'Vi GO!
thank you for the interview and good luck!
I want to thank our fans for their support
it's so pleasant to read the comments and
understand that you stay with us, support us
so we won't get disappointed after some losses
only due to your support
that's why we go to the end!
