These videos are intended to help Advantage customers with product information and technical
tips on the products and services we provide. In this video, we will be showing the basics
of using the menu on the control panel for the Graphtec FC8600 friction fed plotter.
We will begin by going into the condition menu by pressing the condition button on the
front control panel. Press the number 1 key and use the up and
down position keys to select which condition you would like to modify.
Press Enter to return to the main condition menu.
Press the 2 key and use the up and down position keys to select which type of blade, pen, or
tool you will be using. Press Enter to return to the main condition
menu. Press the 3 key and use the up and down position
keys to change the speed of the plotter. Press Enter to return to the main condition
menu. Press the 4 key and use the up and down position
keys to change the force of the blade. Press the Enter to return to the main condition
menu. Press the down position key to go to page
2 of 3 of the condition menu. Press the 3 key and use the up and down position
keys to indicate if the blade holder is in the tool position 1 or tool position 3.
Press Enter to return to the main condition menu.
Press the condition key on the front control panel to exit out of the condition menu.
To adjust the condition priority, press the Menu key on the front control panel to enter
menu mode. Press the 1 key to go into the Tool menu.
Press the down position key to go to page 2 of 3 of the tool menu.
Press the 4 key for the condition priority and use the 1 or 2 key to switch the plotter
from receiving condition settings from the software or manually from the plotter.
Press Enter to return to the main tool menu. If you select the condition priority to be
manual, you will also want to go to page 3 of 3 on the tool menu.
Press the number 1 key for Tool Select Command, and then press the 2 key to disable the tool
select command. Press Enter to return to the main tool menu.
Press the menu key on the front control panel to exit out of menu mode.
To adjust the communication settings, press the Menu key on the front panel to enter menu
mode. Press the up position key for the Interface
menu. Press 1 key for the command menu, and select
1, 2, or 3 to switch the command language. Press Enter to return to the main interface
menu. If you are using Auto or GPGL language, you
will need to preset the 4 key for the step-size. The step-size on the plotter needs to match
on the software being used to send the cutting information.
The most common setting is 3 for a setting of 1016.
Press Enter to return to the main interface menu.
Press the menu key on the front control panel to exit out of menu mode.
