Suppose your young athlete comes home with a broken or missing tooth?
And you want to get them the best treatment possible,
to restore their winning smile.
Well, we have Dr. Larry Klein, a dentist, practicing in St. Petersburg,
who is going to talk to you about different choices,
as well as the challenges in making sure you can get the right and best look
after an accident like that. Doctor Klein, what can you tell us?
There's a lot of things, but pretty much the most essential thing,
is the urgency of care.
So, you've got forty-five minutes of which, if a tooth is knocked out,
it can actually be put in some milk, taken to your dentist, and re-implanted.
So, that's the first thing as far as emergency care.
We've had many accidents, people get in car wrecks, etc.,
with chips, and broken teeth.
Urgency of care, making sure that there's nothing broken,
facially, bone-wise, jaw-wise, tooth-wise.
And then getting the amount of proper care
as far as anything that needs to be done immediately.
After that, it's a matter of cosmetically trying to make the situation look better.
A lot of times, there's gum trauma,
there's there's different types of grafts, implants, are all different options,
of which to restore the smile, back to where you want it to be.
That's exciting. And very interesting.
The whole idea of getting that tooth in milk, to be able to restore it later.
That's pretty exciting. Very organic.
So, be sure you're having put that milk in your car,
or make sure your coach has it on the sidelines.
And thank you very much, and how can we find you, if we need a repair of our tooth?
