I’ve supported Arsenal ever since I was a kid. I've got a few friends that play for Arsenal’s U21s and U18s.
So the club is close to my heart.
Well, I know that Arsenal like to play the same way throughout their ranks from the first team to the U7s.
So if we watch closely how their midfield move especially,
we’ll be able to pick up few pointers on how to play against them tactically tomorrow.
We know that tomorrow will be difficult, because Arsenal are a great team. They will want to keep hold of the ball, it's their philosophy.
It’s not just about denying Arsenal, it’s also about the Nike Academy playing our own game as well.
Arsenal probably wont be very aggressive up front. That's why we are playing Manel as a centre-back today.
It’s different. I wont have as much possession as in midfield,
but it’s important to help the team and I’m sure that if we all play our best, we will get a good result.
We have special games throughout the year, and this is going to be another one.
If any of you are sitting in this room now and think ‘it's Arsenal, I’ve got no chance of playing for Arsenal’, then you’re in the wrong place.
That out there is a young U21s side. But they’re kids, and some of you are men.
So there should be a difference in the physicality of what you do.
Remember when we break, we counter attack quickly.
Everyone ready? Know your jobs? Know your set pieces? All the best.
Before the Hypervenom tournament, the only times I was training was when I went to go and train myself. I wasn’t training with a club.
But after Jimmy saw me at the Hypervenom tournament, he told me to come to Stockholm to do the European Chance.
I did that and I was one of the four winners there.
So from having nothing to coming to train at facilities like St George’s Park
and playing against top teams again, it was really overwhelming for me.
That’s your job done, well done son!
Well done, Kamal, well done!
They need to learn to be patient and understand that when we haven’t got the ball it is not a crime.
As long as the opposition are not penetrating you, hurting you, and getting chance after chance after chance.
When they win the ball back in the natural area, we drop back.
So we press on the attack, we drop back in natural football.
But lads, I think at the moment, it’s a little bit too tentative. We need to be a little bit more positive.
He couldn't give that quick enough.
In the box, you have to stand up, you have to stay on your feet.
If you look at where the penalty actually occurred, he’s not directly in front of the goal.
So you could say that he should usher the boy down the side of the goal.
I thought today you defended very well, but for me you have to express yourselves a bit more when we’ve got the ball.
Everybody can be pleased with the Academy and the way that they played, the way they set about the game.
The attitude of the players was first class.
The left sided centre-back in the first half was very good. I thought he defended well to stop Chuba Akpom,
who was quite difficult to defend but I thought he did very well and then he hit some really telling diagonal left-footed passes.
I’ve been lucky enough to be invited onto the Chance programme for the last 2 years.
I think it’s an outstanding opportunity for players who have the dream to become a footballer.
Your left-back, and I think it was you centre-half. And there were one of two other performances, that I thought were really interesting.
When someone like that says something good about me, it takes my confidence to another level as well
I’m just going to keep on grafting, working hard to try and get into a squad like Arsenal.
